Practical tips and techniques
The first time that you light your scented candle you should allow it to burn for at least two hours to make sure that the whole of the surface is melted.
If you burn your scented candle for any less, it melts only a small portion of the surface and you end up with those tell-tale circles that burn only the same small circle of wax.
Keep the wick trimmed to ¼inch to prevent smoking and carbon mushrooming. Re-trim the wick before every use as this makes your scented candle burn better and prevents the old wick from falling back into the candle.
Keep your scented candle out of the sun
The colour in most scented candles will fade over time. This is especially true if the candle is subjected to sunlight. Be sure to place your scented candle out of direct sunlight to help retain its true colour.
